hey remember when i used to actually write blogs and not just slap pictures and credits on here? yeah me too. well its hair fair season and as usual i’m super late with this post because my rl partner had emergency surgery and everything went to hell in a hand basket for a couple of days! but that’s all taken care of now, so i’m back with my lovely shopping haul from hair fair 2023!
there were a lot of great hairs this year (as there are every year) but my wallet and my overflowing inventory begged me to be modest. i picked up 4 lovely hairs and 2 head accessories, but honestly i will probably go back before its over because a lot of stores were not ready when i jumped in for the blogger preview and I MUST KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE!
for long styles i chose exile’s lorelei, and wasabi’s dasha. lorelei comes with a very cute done up section in the back and lovely bangs. while dasha is a long straight middle parted hair with hideable barrettes.
for shorter styles i grabbed busey’s synth, and ni.ju’s nirynn. synth is a very cool cyber fashion take on pigtails! why do i always end up buying pigtails at hair fair? ni.ju has recently returned to second life and i have practically ran to whatever event she’s currently at to grab the hair she has advertised on twitter. this style is great and works well with my furry avatars as well as my humans!
for accessories i grabbed madame noir’s ursula head dress and apika’s beatrix hat. the head dress is great, and i’m sure i’ll find some evil villain avatar to plot it onto. it worked well with most of the hairs i bought though it looked kinda silly with the pig tails.
the beatrix hat is a wide brimmed fedora style hat and i’m kinda a sucker for those. i look silly in them in rl so i grab them when i can in sl. this hat had some awesome decals! i really loved the horns! unfortunately the hat does not work with the hair i’m wearing in this picture, it pokes through the back a bit. the creator was kind enough to suggest a hair that they wore in the ad but i wanted to stick with hairs that are in my haul! this hat would work best with something flat in the back or maybe even a hair base and some bangs.
and there you have it! hair fair is still running until july 2nd. and it is a great event for a great charity so please do check it out! i do also want to note that the black hair creators are in full force this year! there is so much there for poc residents!
